I love this! The way the scene is put out and also the figures. The colours make it look beautiful and the way you put the mist in the back ground gives it more of an effect! This is truly a beautiful picture! The trees are drawn perfect and the leafs on the floor and falling off of the branches make it look more like a forest, the way the figure walks of into the mist is fab! And also how the trees bend and twist make the scene more alive, good work on this piece and keep going
First off, I really adore the color scheme here. You did a good job with the colors. Without the pink flowers/leaves, there would have been too much blue and black. It's nicely balanced here. The way the dog and the cloaked character seem to stand alone between the trees is also a nice touch--it adds a bit of mystery to it, from my perspective.
In the description, you mention wanting this to come across as creepy. I think the reason it didn't come out the way you wished is because of the immense amount of white in the "background." When creating a "creepy" scene, people usually envision dark colors and twisted, almost grotesque shapes. White, unless used with grays or silvers to convey moonlight, usually comes across as the complete opposite of what you were attempting to achieve.
If you wanted to be a little more original with creating a scarier scene, you could try making light sources of different colors coming from, say, the inside of a cave. Doing that gives a sense of impending doom depending on how well it's executed.
Overall, you did a great job with the creation of this piece, and really by itself there isn't much to critique. You just need to practice what colors belong in what moods.
No matter what you draw it's always so magical and vibrant! Your art is always so refreshing to see and I hope you know you have a true unique style that is unlike any I have seen before. Amazing work!
This is beautiful. The way the flowers/leaves in the trees glow against their darker background is totally cool - the glowing effect it gives off is epic. It's the same for Red Riding Hood and her bright cape. It really brings the viewer's eyes straight to her, and from there, you can see all of the beautiful colors featured in this piece! I really enjoy this! Please keep up the good work!
This is very cool, I like the composition and the color, It give it it this eerie look that she is finding her way home and the wolf is following her, and it reminds me a bit of sleepy hollow, don't know why, but I like it very much.
I love the clolours and the overall setting here!!
The whole "how to do a creepy scene" has been covered vey well, so I 'm not going to repeat everything that has been said. I will add a point about the wolf however. Maybe a good way to tackle would be instead of drawing him right behind red hood, draw him peeking out behind the tree line, maybe position him closer to the vewier. I think that way it would look more like he is stalking her, instead of just following in her footsteps)
I really like this one too! Yes, you're right, the wolf seems to be her protector in this (again) gloomy kind of dark blue forrest I really like the feathers or leaves falling down soflty, it is as if one could see them move. Also the leaves upon the trees are just gorgeous I think I do not have a favourit fairy-tale, but I somehow like those old-fashioned stories
This is so beautiful I absolutely love the colours, particularly the pink tones above red riding hood and the wolf. The composition works really well; it emphasises the scale while still drawing the viewers focus to the figures. I really love this style.
